PE teaching services

Buzzers Academies can supply a qualified and experienced tutor to support, assess and develop your school Sports and PE provision, in line with the Sports Premium (PESSPA) funding and Pupil Premium guidelines. All of our services are based on sustainability and provide evidence of impact.

 

Purpose –

 

High-quality Physical Education provision, inspiring all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically demanding activities. Providing opportunities for students to become physically confident in a way that supports their health and fitness. Giving opportunities to students to compete in sport and other activities in order to build character and help to embed values such as fairness, leadership and respect.

 

Aims –

 

To deliver the National Curriculum for Physical Education ensuring that all students develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities, are physically active for sustained periods of time, engage in competitive sports and activities, and lead healthy and active lives.

 

Attainment Targets –

 

By the end of each Key Stage, students will know, apply and understand the matters, skills and processes specified in the relevant programme of study.

  • Selecting and applying skills, tactics and compositional ideas.

  • Evaluating and improving performance.

  • Knowledge and understanding of fitness and health.

Teacher Training & Mentoring

Our ‘Team Teaching’ programme allows class teachers, teaching assistants and senior management the opportunity to shadow our PE tutor and work with them on a specific Scheme of Work. Our tutor will work with your school teaching staff to support, assess and develop their delivery of PE and Sport across all areas of the PE National Curriculum. Our tutor will work with your staff using Schemes of Work, Assessment Methods and Lesson Planning ideas. This can be based in class or as a staff INSET.

Curriculum PE & PPA cover

Our tutor will provide Curriculum Maps, Timetables, Schemes of Work, Term Plans and Pupil Assessments to fulfil your PE curriculum needs, requirements and focusses. We can also link your curriculum PE with PSHE activities and Teacher Training obligations.

PE & School Sport Audit

Our tutor will complete a full audit of your current PE and School Sport provision. We can then advise and support with the evaluation and evidencing of your PESS spending to show best impact.

PE for SEND pupils

Bespoke PE for pupils with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities.

No child should be excluded from sports and physical exercise!

Leadership Courses

A 10-week Leadership & Communication course aimed at Year 5 & 6 students and your school ‘Play Leaders’ (or equivalent).

Inclusive PE

Bespoke sessions for ‘Gifted & Talented’, PE ‘strugglers’ and SEND students. Tailored PE sessions to work in-line with your existing ‘Booster’ classes.

Before and After-School Clubs

We can offer a wide range of sports and activities to bolt on to your teaching day. We also offer the option to host and manage the club bookings and payments via our online system - ClassForKids.

Physical, Social & Health Education (PSHE)

Our PSHE sessions help students develop their resilience and manage their thoughts, feelings and behaviour. We use Sports and Physical Activity role play situations to model and support every day challenges and difficulties. All knowledge gained is transferable back into the classroom and will support their academic learning.

Baseline Data Testing

To assess basic physical progress over the course of an academic year, whilst also giving students the opportunity to understand how to perform fitness tests reliably, with correct technique and accurate measurements. Also, to create data for students to carry to the following year of school and for schools to transfer progress to secondary schools. Also, an effective programme for evidencing the impact of your PESS funding.

School Sports Competitions

Management and delivery of intra-school and inter-school sports competitions and tournaments.

Wraparound Care

Active, inclusive and flexible wraparound care, with emphasis on physical activity, leadership and healthy eating.

Midday Meal/Lunch Time Supervisor Training & Support

Review, planning and analysis for school lunch-time staff. We can train Midday Supervisors to facilitate and deliver effective play and physical activity during the lunchtime period. This is in line with the Public Health England guidance of children taking part in 60 minutes of physical activity per day.
