Below is our core team; the team responsible for ensuring the high level of provision and parent customer service during all Camps and Clubs.
Managing Director
MATT WALKER
Matt is the founder of Buzzers Academies and has been an active part of the team since its launch in 2010. His passion and enthusiasm for Buzzers is what drives the brand forward to bigger and better things. Matt is actively involved in every aspect of 'Buzzers' provision, taking great pride and care in the brand and it's positive representation.
Matt played a high standard of cricket at both junior and senior level, having represented both Kent and Derbyshire. He is a dad to twin girls, who he hopes one day will take over the reins of the business.
Matt is a qualified coach in Cricket, Mini & Tag Rugby, Athletics, Boccia, Sitting Volleyball and Handball, as well as being trained in Diabetes Management and Childhood Weight Management. Matt is also currently working towards his Level 5 'Primary School Physical Education Specialism'. He has a background in working with children and young people with SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities), a passion which came from teaching PE at Bethlem & Maudsley Hospital School for 3 years.
Operations Manager
CHRIS WOOD
Chris is our Operations Manager and deals with everything behind the scenes to do with our PE teaching services, PE planning, recruitment, staff CPD and Trainee Programme. He also oversees the overall smooth running of our holiday Camps.
Chris is one of our longer-serving members of the team. His attitude and professionalism towards work is contagious, making him a great role model for our younger, lesser experienced coaches. Chris has that 'likable' factor, meaning we often get requests from parents asking "which venue is Chris working at this half-term?"
Chris is a true 'allrounder' in terms of his coaching abilities; from Dodgeball to Drama, Cricket to Cheerleading, he's able to deliver a variety of sports and activities for our school PE lessons and Camp provision.
Chris' positive, upbeat, engaging approach to sports and physical activities makes him a hugely popular member of our team and a huge asset to the company.
Extended Services Manager
NATHAN ROYE
Nathan joined the team in 2014. He has an extensive list of coaching qualifications including; Level 1 Parkour, Level 2 Fitness Trainer, Level 2 gymnastics, Level 2 BMABA (British Martial Arts and British Association) Instructor. He is also a 6th Dan in Taekwondo. As our Extended Services Manager, Nathan's responsibilities include managing and developing our Holiday Camps, Saturday Club, and everything else outside of our term-time teaching services.
Nathan's vast amount of sporting achievements include; Boxing 2-0, former Jr British, European and World Open Taekwondo Champion, 2010 ISDO European Silver medallist. He is also the youngest British 6th Dan ever. Nathan is one of our most experienced and highly qualified members of the team, and his professional approach to work makes him the ideal role-model for our younger, lesser experienced staff..
Office Manager
CHARLOTTE WHITE
Charlotte joined the Buzzers team in 2024 as our Office Manager. Her role includes managing our staff HR system, liaising with our schools and camp venues, and supporting our network of parent customers.
Charlotte is the name behind most of the emails and the person on the end of the phone when you call. Charlotte plays a vital role in the 'behind the scenes' work that goes on before, during and after the successes of our Holiday Camps. If you have a problem, need help with a booking, or have a question regarding our services, Charlotte is there to help you!
Charlotte is also a qualified Netball coach and is the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for her local Netball club.
Office Administrator
ERIN SNYDER
Erin joined the Buzzers team in 2024 as our Office Administrator. Her role is to manage all administrative aspects of our school holiday Camps, including supporting the day-to-day needs and requirements of our parent customers via email, WhatsApp and telephone.
Erin was a Gymnast for 12 years and progressed from recreational classes to squad level where she trained competitively in Acrobatics. She started off in a mixed pair and then went on to be in a women’s trio. Erin competed both nationally and internationally. She travelled to Italy, Germany and Bulgaria to compete and medalled gold in all of them. Erin retired from Gymnastics in 2020 and began coaching in the same year. She is a British Gymnastics Level 1. More recently, Erin started coaching Cheerleading as well as being on a competitive Cheerleading team. Additionally, she has a NCFE level 2 diploma in 'Skills for Business' qualification.
Senior Coach
ASHLEIGH CHEVANNES
Ashleigh is our longest standing member of the coaching team, having joined us way back in 2012. Ashleigh has coaching qualifications in Football and Multi-Skills Development in Sport, as well as being a qualified Personal Trainer.
In recent years, Ashleigh has specialised in working with children with SEN and those with an EHCP (Education, Health & Care Plan). Ashleigh has a wealth of experience and knowledge in the Education sector and is a huge asset to Buzzers Academies.
Ashleigh is one of our 'Lead' coaches at holiday camps. He also teaches full-time for us during term-time, specialising in Sports Mentoring, Social Skills, SEN support, and working with children with EHCPs.
Senior Coach
JAKUB SMYKLA
Jakub joined the Buzzers team in 2022 on a Trainee Programme. He completed the programme in just 7 months and now teaches PE in schools full-time with the company.
Jakub has coached Football both in schools and for clubs since 2019. He has a Level 1 coaching qualification in Football and Athletics.
Outside of work, Jakub has a huge passion for fitness and is currently working towards his Personal Trainer qualification and a qualification in Massage Therapy.

JOSH COPE
Josh is one of our senior members of staff and joined the team in 2021. He is a qualified PE teacher, holding both QTS and PGCE certificates.
Josh has a wealth of experience in coaching, spending 8 years working within various Harris Federation schools, in both Primary and Secondary settings. Josh is a Level 2 qualified Football and Aquatics coach.
Josh is one of our most senior 'Lead' coaches at our Beckenham Camp.

JAMES GOSLING
James joined the Buzzers team in 2023. He has a BA hons degree in Physical Education & Sports and currently works full-time teaching PE in a Bromley borough Primary School. He is one of our senior coaches and one of the most reliable, hard-working, dedicated members of the Buzzers team!
James is an avid Ice Hockey player and coach, whilst also competing in Muay Thai. We are extremely lucky to have James on our team each half-term and school holiday, and his passion and dedication to the company's ethos and working standards is evident in every day that he works at our Camps.

GARY RUSSELL
Gary joined Buzzers in 2024 and quickly became a popular and successful member of the team. Gary teaches full-time for the company and is one of our senior 'Lead' coaches at our holiday camps.
Gary is a great role-model for a lot of our younger coaches and has the ability to bring fun and energy to every Buzzers camp/club he is part of! With over a decade of coaching experience, Gary possess a comprehensive skill set in player development. He has Level 1, Level 2 and UEFA B Football coaching licenses, as well as FA Youth Module levels 1 and 2. His dedication to nurturing talent is evident in his track record of assisting ten or more young players in securing professional football contracts.
Before transitioning to coaching, Gary honed his skills as a football goalkeeper for several years, representing notable clubs such as Reading, Aldershot, and Welling United at youth level.

HARRY BECK
Harrison has been with the company since 2024 and is one of our Camp 'lead' coaches, as well as teaching full-time for us during term-time. With a solid foundation in youth work and sports education, he holds a Level 2 qualification in Youth Work Practice and a Level 3 in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education in School Sport, alongside a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport.
Harrison has a diverse background in the sports charity sector, specialising in mentoring and youth work. His experience includes working in prisons delivering rugby and cricket programs, as well as engaging young people across London’s estates to help them transition from NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) to EET (Education, Employment, or Training). Harrison also facilitated internet safety workshops for secondary school girls through netball and led life skills and sports sessions for post-16 SEN youth.
Harrison's passion for sports has taken him around the globe, delivering coaching and professional development opportunities in countries such as India, Spain, Portugal, and France.
As a former competitive athlete in judo and football at both club and county levels, he continues to stay involved in the sports community. In his free time, he helps to run a men’s charity football team, organise a men’s mental health forum, and support a local food bank.

RYAN McCOURT
Ryan joined the team in 2022, working alongside his university studies in PE, Physical Activity & Sport. Ryan is a highly talented coach with bundles of potential...and we are lucky enough to see this potential play out at Buzzers Academies!
Ryan is one of our full-time,. term time PE tutors and has a huge future ahead of him in this industry. Ryan is also a member of our school holiday Camps coaching team. Ryan is a qualified Football coach, whilst also still regularly playing himself.

CALLUM LETCHFORD
Callum joined Buzzers in 2022. He has a contagious passion for coaching and inspiring kids to get involved in sport, and this is evident every time he works at our Camps.
Callum is a qualified Football coach and Football referee. As well as coaching, Callum also plays football through a scholarship with Kinetic Academy.

MAX FRANCIS
Max joined the team in 2023. He has played Football at a high standard throughout his career as a goalkeeper. Max is a qualified Football coach and Football referee.
His passion for coaching and the development of young people through sport, is what drives Max on to pursue his career in sports and Physical Education.

TOBY WILKES
Toby joined us in 2023 and made an instant impact. He is a qualified PE teacher, with an FA Level 1 coaching badge for Football.
Toby is one of our senior 'Lead' coaches and can be found at various of our Camp venues. Toby's biggest sporting achievement was representing his school in Football on a European tour.

MARTIN HUSSEIN
Martin joined the team in 2023. He is currently teaching in a Bromley primary school, overseeing all aspects of their PE and Clubs.
Outside of his school and Buzzers commitments, Martin works with SEN children, offering them Multi-Sports coaching. In his free time, Martin plays Lacrosse and is also a black belt in Karate.

MEGAN RICKETTS
Megan joined Buzzers in 2023. She has several coaching qualifications, most notably the Level 5 in Primary School Physical Education Specialism.
After working in the sporting industry since 2014, Megan has a strong passion and enthusiasm for teaching and is currently a PE Lead in a Bromley borough Primary School.
Megan is one of our senior 'Lead' coaches during our school holiday Camp programmes.

ELLA MOORE
Ella joined the team in 2021. She is a Level 1 Korfball qualified coach and has played Korfball at a high level for many years, including representing England since the age of 13 and London since the age of just 8!
Ella's energy and love for coaching is what makes her one of the first names down on our staff schedule! She is a superb role model for young women getting in to sport and on how to conduct yourself in order to fulfil your personal goals.

KULLAM ROYE
Kullam joined our team in 2016. He has a BA hons degree in Sports Coaching & Development recognised by CIMSPA, a Level 2 qualification in Multi-Skills, and has coached and competed in Martial Arts for over 20 years.
Kullam is an outstanding role model for our Camp children, supporting them with many 'life skills' and issues, including street safety, respect and self-protection.
Kullam's sporting achievements include, being Taekwondo Jr British Open Champion, WKU British Champion and currently competes at a semi-professional level in Muay Thai.

DANNY GRAY
Danny joined the Buzzers team in 2017. He is a qualified Football Coach and Level 3 Safeguarding Children trained.
Danny's background and passion is in sports, mental health and emotional wellbeing. He has strong behaviour management strategies and is great at building working relationships and team moral within our Camp staff. He has vast experience in teaching a variety of sports including; Basketball, Netball, Football and Rugby. Danny loves Athletics and has taken groups of school children to the London Youth Games finals. He is a great role model for our Camp children and is one of our most reliable, dependable and professional members of the team.

TONI GAUSDEN
Toni joined the Buzzers team in 2023. She went to Canterbury University and achieved a degree in Physical Education, Physical Activity and Sport. She has worked in PE departments within primary and secondary schools.
Toni's organisational skills, teamwork, leadership and positive attitude, make her a vital part of our team. She has 'Lead' at almost all of our Camp venues, and has made a huge impression at all of them!

RUBY WHITLEY
Ruby has been a part of the Buzzers team since 2020 and started as one of our volunteers. Early into her Buzzers journey we quickly realised that she was destined for great things within the company...and she's proven us right!
Ruby played hockey and cricket since the age of 7. Her passion for these sports aided her into competing at a high level, such as Kent Hockey and getting to the final stage of county cricket trials. She played national league hockey for her school club too.
Ruby has been coaching hockey and cricket since she was 13 years old. Her experience as a player has given her valuable insights into the game, which she has been able to pass on to the children she coaches at Buzzers. As she continues to develop her skills as a coach, Ruby is excited to see where this journey will take her and the impact she can have on the next generation of sporting athletes.
Ruby is a true leader, with experience in coaching korfball and other non-traditional sports through the three years she has been at university studying physical education and sports coaching. Being part of the Buzzers team has not only allowed Ruby to grow as a coach, but has also given her the opportunity to connect with and positively impact the lives of young sports athletes.

EMMA JAYMES
Emma joined the team in 2024 and comes with a range of experience in coaching, spending 7 years working within various schools, in both Primary and Secondary settings. She also has vast experience working within Summer Camp settings.
Emma is a Level 2 qualified Hockey coach and a qualified Secondary School PE teacher.
